Anjuli Hein, DVM– Medical Director
Dr. Hein was born and raised on a ranch in Kremmling, a small town in Northwestern Colorado. She graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Biology and then continued on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University in 2007. After graduation, she moved to Salida,CO to work in a mixed-animal practice and then joined the ITAH team in 2008.
Her professional interests include internal medicine, preventive care, and alternative medicine. Dr. Hein and her husband have two dogs, named Mosley and Olive, and enjoy skiing, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.

Tomoko Jensen-Otsu, DVM
Veterinarian in Arvada Colorado, Dr.Tomoko, was born in California and spent her childhood in many places including Calgary, Alaska, and New Jersey. She received her bachelor of Science with honors in physics from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She then spent four years working in the nuclear energy industry at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Washington and then at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Washington D.C. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in 2007 and moved to Colorado shortly after graduation.
Her professional interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine, and practice management. She spends her free time mountain biking, road biking, running, hiking, climbing, camping, and just about anything that involves being in the outdoors. She lives with her husband, four dogs (Max, Cody, Dixie, and Naner), and a very large orange cat named Gilbert.

Lesley Leach, DVM
Dr. Leach joined the ITAH team in the Spring of 2010. She received her bachelors degree in Zoology and Biology at the University of Wyoming. She then went on to graduate with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2006. Before joining Indian Tree Animal Hospital, Dr. Leach practiced Veterinary medicine in Northern Colorado.
She enjoys traveling, cooking and skydiving. When she is not being adventurous, she spends her time with her two cats named DJ Scratch and Cleitus.

Barbara Rose, DVM
Dr. Rose joined the ITAH team in the Fall of 2012. She graduated from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and then continued on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University in 2011. Before joining Indian Tree Animal Hospital, Dr. Rose participated in a Biology research program in Costa Rica on Agoutis (small mammals) in 2006, she also participated of a local spay and neuter program in Costa Rica during the summer of 2008, and completed her internship in Washington D.C. from 2011-2012. Her professional interests include emergency medicine, dentistry, surgery and exotics.
She enjoys hiking with Faith (Australian cattle mix), skiing and swimming, and scrapbooking. She shares her home with Faith, Tejas (cat) and Mo and La Fonda (guinea pigs). Dr. Rose realized she wanted to be a veterinarian during her freshman year of college when her rabbit showed her how special the human-animal bond is.

Libby, CVT - Technician Supervisor
Libby joined Indian Tree Animal Hospital in 2009. Before joining us, she was working as an at-home nanny while she completed her Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology. Libby is enthusiastic and shows a genuine love for animals which shows in her day-to-day duties. She works closely with our Arvada veterinarians and clients, striving to make each veterinary visit as positive as possible for both client and patient. She enjoys hiking, swimming, gardening, crafting and spending time with her family and friends. Libby and her husband share their home with their chickens and two dogs named Nina and Lola.
Janine, CVT
Janine joined the ITAH team in the Summer of 2010. Janine previously worked as an Animal Control Officer and has practiced as a Certified Veterinary Technician since 2004. She obtained her Associate in Applied Science degree for Veterinary Technology from Bel-Rea. Originally from Michigan, she enjoys spending time outdoors camping and hiking with her husband and her dog "Delirium". Janine also shares her home with seven chickens. She enjoys small animal dentistry and working with exotic pet.
Kathleen, CVT
Kathleen joined the ITAH team in the fall of 2010. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree at Western State and then moved to Colorado to graduate from Bel Rea with her Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology. She shares her home with her daughter, Kobe (dog) and Jerry, Pella, and Deewee (cats). Originally from Ohio, she enjoys spending her time in the mountains of Colorado snowboarding and hiking.
Rebecca, CVT
Rebecca joined the ITAH team in October of 2009. She completed her Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology in 2010. Currently studying Biology at Metropolitan State College of Denver. Her veterinary interests include dentistry and emergency medicine. She shares her home with Roxy, a Boxer, and Maynard, a Pit Bull.
Michelle, CVT, CCMT
Michelle joined the ITAH team in July of 2011. She completed her Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology in 2006. Michelle has been in the field for over 14 years. She grew to love anesthesia, pain management and acupuncture. Michelle is a Certified Canine Massage Therapist. She has five pets: Liberty, a long haired German Shepherd, Bravo, a German Shepherd, Shyanne, Brody and Riley, domestic short hair cats.
April - CVT
April joined the Indian Tree family in April of 2012. She grew up in Texas. She moved to Colorado in 2010 to attend Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. April graduated in March of 2012. She shares her home with her boyfriend Scott, and 2 dogs, Stella Blue and Duncan Pendragon. April enjoys traveling and spending time with her furry critters. Her favorite part of being at ITAH is interacting with all our wonderful clients and helping their animals to feel better.
Sarah, Veterinary Assistant
Sarah joined the ITAH team in the spring of 2009. She obtained her Veterinary Assistant Certificate from the PIMA institute. Sarahhas grown up around animals since childhood. She has been in the veterinary field for about 5 years. Sarah enjoys anesthesia, laboratory testing, dentals, radiology, meeting new and working with people. Her hobbies include: volleyball, camping, fishing, paint ball and target shooting. She shares her home with Bear (Pom/Sheltie mix) and Yoshi (German Shepherd).
Tracy - Kennel Technician/Veterinary Assistant
Tracy joined the ITAH team in the summer of 2012. She has an Associate of General Studies from Front Range Community College and she is currently enrolled at Community College of Denver pursuing her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. She enjoys playing with the dogs during playtime outside. Her hobbies include reading, riding bikes, hiking, and swimming. She shares her home with Tiger, Lestat and Crystal (cats); Willow (German Shorthair pointer), and Koda (Rat terrier).
CLIENT CARE REPRESENTATIVES:
Amanda “AJ” - Office Manager
Amanda’s favorite part of her job are interacting with clients and their pets. They make her job so much fun and rewarding! She shares her home with Panzer (a Doberman), and Bodhi, Buddha, Niji, and Indigo (Parakeets). AJ’s compassion and love of animals is apparent in everything she does at Indian Tree.
AJ graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s in Marine Biology. While doing her undergraduate she traveled to Australia and studied for 5 months at James Cook University in Townsville, Queensland. Before joining Indian Tree, she volunteered in the mammal departments at Colorado’s Ocean Journey (now Downtown Aquarium) and at the Dolphin Research Center on Grassy Key, Florida.
Her hobbies include: reading, hiking, kayaking, road trips, and baking.
Megan joined Indian Tree Animal Hospital in the Spring of 2009. She has worked in the veterinary field for five years, in which she started as a kennel technician, moving up to veterinary nurse, and now as receptionist. Megan shows a great deal of passion and care in everything she does, and her smile is sure to light up the room! She and her husband Greg share their home with Lila, a chocolate lab, Sophie, a corgi mix, two cats named Rio and Angel, and an assortment of freshwater fish.
Tamara joined the Indian Tree family in the Summer of 2011. Originally from Brazil, she moved to the United States 7 years ago to continue her education. She has a Bachelors in Marketing and Publicity, but decided her passion lies with helping animals. She is currently enrolled at Bel-Rea pursuing her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. She really enjoys working with our clients and their pets from greeting them with enthusiasm to treating pets with the technician and veterinarians.
George - CCR
George joined the Indian Tree family in Spring 2012. He moved from Austin, Texas where he worked at a veterinary Clinic that practiced herbal Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and Western medicine. He enjoys greeting clients and providing quality customer care. George’s interests include playing his guitar professionally, being with family and musical theater. He shares his home with Ty, a Maine coon mix.
Rosie - CCR
Rosie joined the team in the Summer of 2012. Rosie’s favorite part of her day is to greet all the animals that come in to ITAH, and be the first to love them, easing their fears. Rosie loves to be creative: she enjoys baking, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. Rosie and her family share their home with Maggie (Golden retriever), Albusand Lucius(cats).
MANAGEMENT:
Mitch Kramer, DVM - Owner/President
Veterinarian in Arvada, Dr. Kramer, was born in New York and moved to Colorado in his early teens. He attended Colorado State University and received his undergraduate degree in Biology in 1986 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. When Dr. Kramer opened Indian Tree Animal Hospital, he practiced full-time as the clinic’s only veterinarian. Since then, many more veterinarians have joined him, and he now works completely in a managerial role.
His interests include travel and wildlife photography. Photos from his trips to Tanzania can be seen throughout the hospital. Dr. Kramer has a son and two cats, named Isabelle and Casey.
