DOCTORS


Mitch Kramer, DVM
Senior Owner/President

Dr. Kramer was born in New York and moved to Colorado in his early teens. After high school he attended Colorado State University, receiving his undergraduate degree in Biology in 1986 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1990.

In early 1994 Dr. Kramer ventured out on his own opening Indian Tree Animal Hospital. Although initially practicing full time as the clinics only veterinarian, Mitch has now moved into a completely managerial role.

Dr. Kramer's interests include travel and wildlife photography. Photos from his trips to Tanzania can be seen hung throughout the hospital.

Dr. Kramer has a son and his family also includes three cats, Cody, Murphy, and Casey, and two Guinea Pigs.

 

Tom Adducci, DVM
Owner/Vice President

Dr. Thomas Adducci is a Colorado native who grew up in north Denver. After finishing high school, Tom attended Colorado State University where he earned a bachelors degree in Veterinary Science in 1987. Tom completed his DVM at Colorado State University in 1991.

Currently Tom is co-owner of Indian Tree Animal Hospital. He enjoys seeing all types of animals and has a special interest in surgery, ophthalmology, and acupuncture.

Tom's hobbies and interests include weight and cardiovascular training, fly-fishing, and camping. Dr. Adducci and his wife Candace have two children and share their house with their two cats Jazz and Holley.

 

Anjuli Hein, DVM
Veterinarian

Anjuli Hein was born and raised on a ranch in Kremmling, a small town in Northwestern Colorado.  She graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Biology and then continued on to veterinary school at Colorado State University, graduating in 2007.  She moved to Salida, CO after graduation to work in a mixed animal practice.  Dr. Hein joined the Indian Tree Animal Hospital team in 2008.  Her professional interests include internal medicine, preventive care, and alternative medicine.  Dr. Hein and her husband Glenn enjoy skiing, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.

 

Tomoko Jensen-Otsu, DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Tomoko was born in California and spent her childhood in many places including Calgary, Alaska, and New Jersey.  She received her bachelor of science with honors in physics from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.  She then spent 4 years working in the nuclear energy industry at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Washington and then at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Washington D.C.  She received her doctor of veterinary medicine at Virginia Tech in 2007 and moved to Colorado shortly after graduation.

Her professional interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine, and practice management.  She spends her free time mountain biking, road biking, running, hiking, climbing, camping, and just about anything that involves being in the outdoors.  She lives with her husband, four dogs (Max, Cody, Dixie, and Naner), and a very large orange cat named Gilbert.

 

Lauren Ungar, DVM
Veternarian


Lauren Ungar was born and raised on Long Island in New York. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and then headed south to the Caribbean island of St. Kitts where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University. After graduation in 2003, she and her (now) husband, Todd, moved to Colorado where they have called home ever since.

Dr. Ungar's professional interests include internal and preventive medicine, ophthalmology, emergency medicine, and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Ungar lives in Denver with her husband and daughter, along with their dogs, Ruby and Monkey and their cat, Serena. They spend their free time enjoying the great Colorado outdoors and love traveling, skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, running, and camping.

 

Brielle Weldon, DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Brielle Weldon joined the staff of the Indian Tree Animal Hospital in the Spring of 2009. She grew up in Tulsa, OK and earned her B.S. in Animal Science at the University of Oklahoma State University in 1999. She further continued her schooling by graduating with her Master's in Physiology in 2001, and her Degree of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 at Colorado State University. Dr. Weldon practiced in Lake Tahoe, CA for 3 years before moving here to Colorado; a place she calls home.

Dr. Weldon enjoys every day here at ITAH. Her special interests at our practice include dermatology, geriatric medicine, preventative medicine, and epidemiology.
In her spare time, she enjoys snowboarding and hiking in the White Mountains, as well as camping and cooking. Dr. Weldon lives with her husband Chase, and shares her home with her two dogs named Lily and Lloyd, and her cat Francis.

 

S.J. Vice, DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Vice received her BA in Science at Colorado State University in 1997, and gradated shortly after with her Degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, she left her private practice of 5 years and headed West. Dr. Vice practiced in Northern California for one year, and moved to Colorado in search of something more. She has been with Indian Tree Animal Hospital since the fall of 2009, and has many wonderful attributes to offer her patients and staff. Her career interests are dermatology, emergency medicine,and soft tissue surgeries.

Outside of the office, Dr. Vice enjoys walks with her sheltie named Dino, rollerblading, bicycling, reading, watching movies and bowling. Her family also includes three cats: Buff, Tubb and Betsy.

 

VETERINARY NURSES AND ASSISTANTS

 

Alexis, CVT
Technician Supervisor

A Colorado State graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Alexis joined ITAH in the winter of 2009. Alexis has extensive knowledge of the Basenji breed, ranging from breeding and raising, to lour-course training and obedience. Of her work at ITAH, she says that "every day is different; there are new challenges and learning experiences every day." She especially enjoys watching the love between a pet and it's owner unravel, and it's long-time relationship that begins. When not assisting the veterinarians or overseeing her fellow technicians, Alexis enjoys bicycling, playing with her pets, golfing, and traveling. Tobee, a lab, Stryker, a golden retriever, and Miescko, a siamese, are all part of her loving household.

 

Niki, CVT

Niki has been a part of the ITAH team since 1999. She loves caring for the animals and working with the great staff here at the hospital. Niki has a special interest in cytology, surgery, and dentistry. In Niki's spare time she enjoys hiking, cooking, running, and spending time with family. Niki and her husband Michael share their home with one dog, Annie, and two cats, Hans and Siren.

 

Gretchen, CVT

Gretchen has been with the hospital team since 2009. She graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts. Prior to ITAH she was an art director for 19 years and always had a calling for working in the veterinary field. She decided to return to school to pursue her passion and graduated from Bel-Rea as a Certified Veterinary Technician. Gretchen enjoys the interaction with our clients and their pets and has a special interest in internal medicine and working in the lab. When she is not caring for our patients here, Gretchen enjoys traveling, movies, camping, and snorkeling. She and her husband Curt share their home with their two cats, Archie and Lenny, and a cattle dog named Sophie.

 

Erica,CVT

Erica has been working at ITAH since Spring of 2008. Prior to joining the team she worked at two other veterinary hospitals for a total of 3 years. Erica enjoys meeting new people, playing with the animals, has a special interest emergency medicine and homeopathics, and loves hanging out with Casey our clinic cat! She lives with two cats, Kya & Kiki, as well as her dog Dezi.

 

Andrea, CVT

Andrea has been working at ITAH since the Fall of 2008. Prior to joining the team she was earning her Associate's Degrees in Applied Science for Equine Management and Veterinary Technology. She has a special interest dentistry as well as pharmaceuticals. In her free time, Andrea enjoys reading, cooking, and loves riding her horse named Smuggler! She lives with her husband, two dogs, Molly a greyhound, and Sonny a labrador.

 

Libby, CVT

Libby joined Indian Tree Animal Hospital 2009. Before joining us here at ITAH, she was working as an at home nanny while she completed her Associate's Degree in Applied Science. Libby is enthusiastic and shows a genuine love for animals which shows in her day to day duties. She works closely with our veterinarians and clients, striving to make each veterinary visit as positive as possible for both client and patients. She enjoys hiking, swimming, gardening, crafting and spending time with her family and friends. Libby and her husband Regan share their home with their two dogs: Nina, a spaniel mix, and Lola, a catahoula mix.

 

Deena, CVT
Veterinary Nurse

Deena joined the ITAH team in December of 2008, shortly after graduating from Bel-Rea and completing her internship with IDEXX laboratories. Deena currently performs surgical anesthesia, medical nursing and general patient care. She has a special interest in Eastern medicine, massage therapy, and exotic care. Deena enjoys physical fitness, snowshoeing, traveling, and hiking with her furry family . Deena has two labs, Jimmy and Frankie, as well as her black kitty Kimanee. In addition, she also shares her home with Izze, the 7 year old iguana.

 

Kate
Veterinary Nurse

Kate started with Indian Tree Animal Hospital in 2008. She brings a strong work ethic and excellent animal based knowledge to the staff here at ITAH. Kate has her Bachelor Degree in Biology and Criminal Justice, and is currently studying at Bel-Rea; she is due to graduate this June. When she isn't here playing with the animals, Kate enjoys running, fishing, and watching live music concerts. Kate shares her home with her beautiful mastiff named Meadow.

 

Rebecca
Veterinary Nurse

Rebecca joined ITAH as an intern in the fall of 2009 and was officially added to the team shortly thereafter. She has a great interest in surgery as well as emergency medicine. Rebecca is currently working towards her Associate's of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology degree, and is due to graduate this spring. She enjoys shopping, yoga, and playing with her pets. Among her household include Addison, a siamese, and Roxy, a boxer.

 

CLIENT CARE REPRESENTATIVES

 

Sarah T.
CCR Supervisor

Sarah has been working at ITAH since November of 2008. Prior to joining the team she worked as a client services representative as well as technician in Arkansas for a total of five years. Sarah enjoys painting, walks in the park, and traveling. Sarah's son and husband keep her very busy during her time off. She shares her home with two dogs, Ace and Miles.

 

Candace
CCR

Candace joined Indian Tree Animal Hospital in 2004. She has always had a strong love for animals great and small, and brings love and passion to our patients both here and at the Pet Lodge. One of her favorite highlights of her job is handing out liver treats to our grateful canine patients, and playing with them at daycare. When she is not having fun here at Indian Tree, she enjoys movies, making jams, and spending time doing after-school activities with her children. Candace, her husband Tom, and their two children share their home with three cats: Cleo, Jasmine & Misty.

 

Amanda B.
CCR

Amanda came to ITAH in 2001 as a volunteer, and shortly after was hired in as our first kennel technician. She then decided in 2007 to move to the front as reception, where she continues daily to shine. Outside of ITAH she spends her time rescuing animals in need, reading, and caring for her barnyard friends. Amanda has eight dogs, a bearded dragon, and a ball python. She also shares her home with Rocky, an African grey, three horses, five cats, six goats, seven pigs, and several rare and fancy breeds of poultry.

 

Amanda J.
CCR

Amanda had worked at the Dolphin Research Center in Florida prior to joining ITAH in 2009. Her compassion and love of animals is apparent in everything she does here. Amanda especially enjoys interacting with clients and their pets. Amanda also enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and cooking. Amanda shares her home with 6 parakeets, a hedgehog, and a dobie named Fauna.

 

Claudia
CCR/Veterinary Assistant

Claudia has been with the hospital team since 2008. Prior to ITAH she was an interior designer for many clients located in the front range here in Colorado. She enjoys the interaction with our clients and their pets and has a desire to return to school to help increase her knowledge in her career. When Claudia is not caring for our patients here, she enjoys sewing, movies, rock climbing, backpacking, traveling, and hiking. In addition to her busy schedule , Claudia also volunteers for the Total Longterm Care Program that assists the elderly with Alzheimer care. She is joined at home with her husband Steve, whom which they share their home with their four dogs: Apollo, Rocky, Kodiak, and Missy Lu.

 

Megan
CCR

Megan joined Indian Tree Animal Hospital in the Spring of 2009. She has worked in one other veterinary hospital, for a total of five years. Megan had first started her career as a kennel technician, then moved to veterinary nurse, and has settled into reception; a place she considers her niche. Megan shows a great deal of passion and care in everything she does, and her smile is sure to light up the room! She and her husband Greg share their home with Lila, a chocolate lab, Sophie, a corgi mix, two cats named Rio and Angel, and an assortment of freshwater fish.

 

MANAGEMENT

 

Pam Geier
Hospital Administrator

Pam graduated from University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Political science and then moved foward with receiving her MBA from Regis University, graduating in 2000. She joined ITAH in 2009, bringing with her a great deal of accounting and human resource experience. She feels that her work at ITAH allows her to combine her love of animals with her business skills. Pam has worked in many different fields of business in order to increase her understanding and awareness of the work that is done here. During her free time, Pam enjoys riding her horse Hawkpoint as well as reading. Her two cats Mischief and Whiskers are all part of her busy household.

 

Lynn Lucius
Operations Manager

Lynn helped Dr. Kramer start Indian Tree in 1994 when the practice was first located across the street. At that time, she was the nurse, the receptionist, and the manager. She is an important part of our team and has helped to set the stepping stones of leaving a legacy at Indian Tree. Lynn's nickname is "The Cat Whisperer." When she is not tending to our animals here, she is at home cooking for her family and playing with her beautiful granddaughter. Lynn is joined at home with her husband Greg, and her calico kitty named Samantha.


Casey, the clinic cat
AKA "The Hospital Supervisor"

Casey has been our front desk "greeter" to all friends, since early 2000. He enjoys naps in the sun, playing with paperclips, and lounging on the monitor screen. Feel free to give him a rub the next time you visit!
